Captain John Sharp's Corner - Chesapeake Bay Fishing News & Reports

Preparing for the season.

Posted on April 05, 2015 by Captain John Sharp

Miss Molly is back in the water and the final stages of outfitting are underway. All the systems are being checked to ensure that we will be ready for opening day. Next week, we will have the US Coast Guard examination to make sure all the safety factors are in place. At home, all of the fishing gear is spread out as well. All the reels are being respooled, cleaned and lubricated. The tackle and lures are being cleaned or replaced and soon, the rods will be rigged and taken to the boat.
What a busy time, but also, what great fun!!

As for the schedule, the weekends are all booked through the end of May, but there are still weekday openings.

winter 2015

Posted on March 02, 2015 by Captain John Sharp

I have been doing this for many years, but it seems that no matter how long it has been, the routine never changes. After a short winter break, with the arrival of the first change in the weather, all of a sudden, my thoughts begin to focus on the upcoming season. The dreams of being on the water are reawakened and the excitement for the upcoming season starts to build. This year it is no different. Once again, the season is about six weeks away and I am starting to get ready.
I can hardly wait.
